Sustainable Investment for Net Zero with Hydrogen & CCS

  • ECCI High School Yards Edinburgh EH1 1LZ Scotland (map)

This joint SCCS-SHFCA workshop on Sustainable Investment for Net Zero with Hydrogen & CCS is about the potential timing and scale of investment needed to progress large scale hydrogen and CCS projects in Scotland which can support delivery of the key Net Zero targets. It will also consider potential growth of market demand for clean hydrogen as well as the connecting infrastructure which will be needed for transport of both H2 and CO2.

This workshop includes an update on the EU Sustainable Investment Taxonomy, which will be an important reference document for investors who are reallocating project finance and capital spending on infrastructure from oil/gas to low carbon energy. In December 2019, European negotiators reached agreement on a Sustainable Investment Taxonomy which sets out to define the classes of investment that can be considered to be “green”, supporting the objective of re-orienting capital flows towards sustainable investment. These proposals will have implications for investment in both CCS and hydrogen in the UK and beyond.

This event will explore the proposed sustainable taxonomy in the light of the existing pipeline of hydrogen and CCS projects in Scotland and beyond. This workshop will bring together speakers from industry, academia and the investment community, with opportunities for networking and discussion.

Limited places available, prior registration for this event is essential.
