Scaling up Hydrogen & Fuel Cells for post-Covid Recovery

SHFCA2020 H2FC Online covers policy, hydrogen supply, infrastructure, and hydrogen demand. This brings together the four key elements required to build a working hydrogen economy that will enable the transition to a low carbon energy system.

Part 1 of SHFCA2020 H2FC Online is on the afternoon of Wednesday 14 October, with two consecutive sessions on the theme of building a hydrogen economy for Scotland. The opening plenary session will highlight policy leadership and ambitions for hydrogen and fuel cells, exploring importance of cross-sector and international partnership working in the lead up to COP26. The opening plenary is followed by the session on hydrogen supply which will address the importance of the hydrogen supply chain with updates on key projects for production of green and blue hydrogen.

Part 2 of SHFCA2020 H2FC Online takes place during the morning of Thursday 15 October, with two further sessions continuing the theme of building a hydrogen economy for Scotland. The first session is about building the enabling hydrogen infrastructure which will connect the sources of hydrogen supply with the growing hydrogen demand. This is followed by the final session which will address hydrogen demand, and consider how to build up this demand at sufficient scale and with attractive business models. The morning session will conclude with presentation of the Stewart Dow Award.

SHFCA2020 H2FC Online brings together the four key elements required to build a working hydrogen economy that will enable a green post-Covid recovery and the transition to a low carbon energy system.
