Manufacturers of the Class 230 emission-free battery train.  The train is designed around 2 battery driving motor cars and with middle cars housing fuel cell and tanks to charge the batteries.  All power systems are modular and sited beneath the train to a) fit within the UK gauge and b) cause no impact on the interior passenger space.  The hydrogen variant of the Class 230 is a development from the battery/diesel trains built for Transport for Wales – instead of gensets the fuel cells provide the power for charging.  Thus it is built using a fully approved base train with proven power systems.
