Stag Energy is an independent UK based energy company involved in the management of innovative development projects in the rapidly evolving electricity and gas sectors. The company draws on a depth of experience with a team that has created and delivered over 10,000 MW of power generation and related infrastructure projects, raising over $6 billion in commercial debt to support the investments.
The company's primary business focus lies with gas-fired power generation, underground gas storage and associated infrastructure. As the structure of energy markets evolves to incorporate an increasing proportion of intermittent renewable generation, Stag Energy is also assessing the potential to utilise gas storage technology in energy storage and/or hybrid power generation schemes, including the use of hydrogen in methanation technologies.
Stag Energy has significant experience in the development of large scale underground gas storage projects. The Gateway Storage project is about building an underground natural gas storage facility in the East Irish Sea. Storage caverns will be developed in a natural salt structure below the seabed and will enable gas to be delivered, stored and then returned the UK´s national transmission system.
Stag Energy is also working closely with Watt Power Ltd, an independent developer of power generation assets in the UK, to develop a portfolio of small, flexible gas-fired power stations with low emission levels.
