Technology Strategy Board announces new competitions for funding

The Technology Strategy Board is pleased to announce the opening of the June 2009 competitions for funding as of Monday 15th June 2009 at 09:00hrs.

The competitions in this phase will cover:

  • Low Carbon Vehicles: Integrated Delivery Programme Competition 2
    • Innovation Focus Area 1 – Fast Track short term projects (£5m funding)
    • Innovation Focus Area 2 – Mainstream CR&D projects (£10m funding)
  • Low Impact Buildings: Design and Decision Tool – Mainstream CR&D projects
    • (£4m funding)
  • Energy Generation and Supply: Carbon Abatement Technologies
    • Mainstream CR&D (£14m funding)
    • Feasibility Study (processed under the Fast Track competition) – (£1m funding for short term feasibility studies) 

Competition documents, forms and information will be available from 15th June via the competition extranet.

We also wish to draw your urgent attention to the Optional Applicant Briefing Event taking place in Manchester on the 24th June – this is a free event and the main objectives of the day will be as follows:

  • Competition Scope – we will describe all aspects of the technical challenge and scope of the competitions
  • Competition Process – to provide you with an insight into the application and assessment process and you will be taken through the various sections of the application forms

This event also offers opportunities for networking and Technology Strategy Board Technologists will be on hand to answer any questions you may have as well as discuss any aspects of your potential projects.
