Student Placement Programmes

Do you have an environmental project you need to move forward?

Perhaps you don’t have the time or resources to undertake environmental improvements within your company. If so, we can offer the resources and expertise you need through our two student placement programmes:

Environmental Placement Programme

Through the EPP, students come into your business to work in a specific project for 8 weeks in the summer. Project types include:
  • Waste minimisation
  • Energy efficiency
  • Water and Effluent Management
  • Renewables
  • ISO 14001
  • Green Tourism Business Scheme
  • Feasibility studies

The cost to you is dependent on your company size and prices range from £230 - £270 per week + VAT. The cost covers the student wages and a small admin fee to run our programme on a non-profit-making basis.

Carbon Management Placement Programme

In partnership with the University of Edinburgh, we offer companies the chance to access the latest thinking and techniques to progress their carbon management. Students from the Carbon Management Masters Programme are placed in your business to undertake specific projects, including:

  • Carbon Foot-printing
  • Supply chain assessment
  • Competitor assessment
  • Risk management (future legislation)

The cost to you is £50 per day for the student training allowance. The number of days is dependent on your individual project.

Both these placements are excellent opportunities for you to kick start a project which you possibly haven’t had the time, money or in-house resources to move forward previously. As well as knowledge, all students bring initiative, ideas and enthusiasm and can be a real asset to your business.
