Reforming is the process of 'cracking' or 'reforming' fuels into different chemical forms. Commonly, hydrocarbon fuels are reformed to seperate hydrogen from carbon and oxygen in order to form a fuel cell feedstock.
A reformer is a device in which fossil fuels are reacted together with heat and water vapour in order to form a hydrogen-rich fuel gas, usually for use in fuel cell systems. Reformers often use a catalyst. |
