One of the positives to come out of the collapse of the car market is the determination of the UK motor industry to move rapidly towards ultra-low carbon vehicles (ULCVs). The NAIGT (New Automotive Innovation & Growth Team) published its technology roadmap in May this year. But is the UK motor industry and UK government really listening to what the hydrogen and fuel cell industry has to say? The Office for Low Emissions Vehicles (OLEV) seems to be talking only about electric vehicles. Is there something we want to say about it? Surely, the truly ultra-low carbon vehicle with range, performance, reliability and availability is the EVFC hydrid where the fuel cell is used as a range extender and on-board battery charger. By working together, a powerful demand from the motor industry for hydrogen and fuel cell technologies might just be the application breakthrough, the tipping point that our sector needs. This seminar addresses issues of hydrogen and fuel cell applications in vehicles and refueling, with presentations from niche vehicle providers with innovative technology solutions and the need to develop a UK-wide hydrogen refueling infrastructure.
Details to follow.
