Edinburgh offers inspiring opportunities in renewable energy, and is a founding member of East Coast Renewables. Edinburgh City already hosts over 230 companies involved with renewable energy, including the headquarters of 27 major developers and producers, e.g. Mitsubishi Power Systems Europe, EDP Renewables, Vattenfall, Wind Power, RE Power UK and PNE Wind.
Edinburgh is home to the corporate headquarters of more FTSE 100 businesses than any other UK city bar London. The Edinburgh City Region is the UK’s second largest financial centre after London and Europe’s fourth by equity assets.
Edinburgh is also a world influencer in science, business, education and the arts and is Scotland’s judicial and administrative centre. The City Region is internationally renowned for its academic research base with the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University famed for their global five-star research institutions.
Edinburgh is well-connected for international travel, with Edinburgh Airport handling over nine million passenger travelling to more than 125 destinations.
