Edinburgh is also a world influencer in science, business, education and the arts and is Scotland’s judicial and administrative centre. The City Region is internationally renowned for its academic research base with the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University famed for their global five-star research institutions.
Edinburgh is well-connected for international travel, with Edinburgh Airport handling over nine million passenger travelling to more than 125 destinations.
