New era for Scottish Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Association

posted on Oct 13, 2010

Supported by the award of a European Regional Development Fund grant, SHFCA has appointed its first full-time CEO - Dr Stephen Pyke.  Stephen will be based in the new SHFCA headquarters at The Hydrogen Office, Methil, Fife.  Elaine Campbell will continue to manage the administration, finances and membership queries for SHFCA from the Energy Technology Centre in East Kilbride.

Following a highly successful Second Annual SHFCA Conference - Making Way for Scotland's Hydrogen Economy - organised jointly with CIFAL, Findhorn, planning for the Third Annual Conference to be held in September 2011 in Glasgow is already underway with a similarly world-class programme of speakers being assembled.  Further events and activities on behalf of SHFCA Members are also in the pipeline...

The next Members Meeting is now in the calendar for the 17th November.  The meeting which will be held at University of Strathclyde will address the subject of Fuel Cell CHP with speakers from several of the leading companies in this field.  There will also be an opportunity for Members to contribute to a SHFCA Position Paper on Energy Storage - an area where Hydrogen and Fuel Cells can play a key role in unlocking Scotland's vast renewable resources.  This meeting will be the first opportunity for many of the Members to meet the new CEO so there will also be an open forum for you to discuss the future role and priorities of SHFCA.

Subsequent Members Meetings are planned for February and May 2011 with Energy Storage and Sustainable transport being amongst the subjects for discussion.  Suggestions for other subjects and appropriate speakers welcome...
